Growing up in a Senegalese household in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood developed Khady’s desire for understanding different cultures and communicating among them. Earning her Master’s degree in Management, Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, and Minor in Leadership Through Civic Engagement, she spearheaded program marketing and communication strategies in two languages to provide effective services and refined her ability to communicate multiculturally.

Coming from her role as Communications and Marketing Senior Coordinator at Rising Tide Capital, where she executed content and engagement strategies for multiple departments in two languages and 6 geographical regions, she has collaborated with cross-functional teams. She was also a founding member of Rising Tide Capital’s Human Resources run Employee Wellness Committee, which focused on developing employee engagement initiatives, including learning and wellness opportunities.

As a previous Valley Arts communications intern in 2016 and Bonner student from Montclair State University for the Oakwood Avenue School in Orange, NJ, it came full circle as she joined the HANDS team as the Director of Community Initiatives and Organizational Learning in 2019. As the organization began to transition, she became the Director of Programs, allowing her to develop economic opportunity programs for residents and businesses in Orange. She now joins Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation as the Development and Communications Director with her newfound skills.
